Perfect after a long night of gallery openings to relax and have a great meal.
The Scene
The restaurant's haute interior plays up its closeness to the clubby street's bling. Soaring ceilings, back-lit wood accents and a scene-y front bar set the stage for tables of glammed up girls, dressy dates and groups out to celebrate. Beat-driven music pulses through the space, making it difficult to catch your waiter's recitation of specials. Service is erratic but friendly.
The Food
The menu, inspired by the regional cuisine of Campania, is most inventive with appetizers. For a fresh start, try the salmon, thin strips marinated in lemon juice and topped with peppery capers or the tender octopus chunks, drizzled with a light vinagrette. From the pastas, the house-made ravioli filled with tangy caciotta cheese and a touch of marjarom pack the most flavor, and all--even the beef-filled cannelloni--avoid heaviness. Meat offerings are standard (veal, chicken, filet) in style and taste. Rev up with an espresso before partying on.
